RN and Allied Health ProfessionalsPatient Centered Care Courses
(formerly RN & Allied Health)

These courses focus on putting theory into practice for those responsible for the direct care of cancer patients (nurses, advanced practice nurses, radiology and radiation oncology technicians, social workers, dietitians, physical therapists, speech therapists, etc.). Special attention will be given to equip nurses and allied health professionals with tools they need to be successful when caring for cancer patients. Upon successful completion of the requirements, most courses offer a choice between an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) CNE credit from the UNC School of Nursing, a Category A credit from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), or a general certificate of completion.

(formerly Medical and Surgical Oncology)

These courses are intended for oncologists, hematologists, surgeons, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants, researchers, and/or those professionals who provide care to patients with cancer on a regular basis. These courses cover the spectrum of cancer theory, cutting edge cancer care, and research. Upon successful completion of the requirements, most courses offer AMA PRA Category 1 Credit from the UNC School of Medicine, American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) CNE credit from the UNC School of Nursing, and Category A credit from the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), and a general certificate of completion.


studentsCommunity College Oncology Courses

These courses are designed for students enrolled in health sciences programs and the community colleges across the state of North Carolina. The courses provide opportunities for students to become more familiar with strategies necessary for caring for cancer patients with the goal of improving cancer care and elevating interest in and awareness of oncology-related professions. Upon successful completion of the requirements, these courses offer a general certificate of completion at the end of the course.


Special Events Courses

These courses are intended for oncology professionals who provide care to patients with cancer on a regular basis. These courses are focused either on equipping nurses and allied health professionals with tools they need to be successful when caring for cancer patients or on covering the spectrum of cancer theory, cutting edge cancer care, and research. Although these courses are on the level of an Patient Centered Care or a Research to Practice course, special events in the learning portal are not available for continuing education credit, but they do offer a general certificate of completion.
